Douglas RNLI lifeboat launched to assist yacht

The Douglas RNLI lifeboat was called to action on Saturday (14 April) after a yacht was reported to have broken down south of Douglas.
 
At 8.55pm the Douglas all-weather lifeboat Sir William Hillary under the command of volunteer Emergency Coxswain Greg Coates was launched. The yacht, a local vessel with three people on board was found off Little Ness and taken under tow back to Douglas.
 
With the yacht safely moored alongside the King Edward Pier, the lifeboat returned to the boathouse, was washed down, refuelled, and reported as ready again for service at 10:05pm.
