The next film to be screened in Peel, on Wednesday 9th May, is We Need to Talk About Kevin (Cert 15), an extraordinary, multi –award winning drama/thriller, based on the novel by journalist and author Lionel Shriver.
It tells the story of an ordinary mother, Eva Khatchadourian, who struggles to love her son, despite his increasingly strange and vicious behavior. British actor Tilda Swinton is magnificent as Eva, who desperately tries to raise her psychopathic child and whose life is torn apart by his final act of defiance. This film is visually stunning and masterfully composed by award winning British director, Lynne Ramsey. A disturbing film that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. A masterclass in the art of filmmaking that leaves you believing in the power of cinema.
The film starts at 7.45pm and runtime is 112 minutes. Doors open at 7pm. Refreshments are available.
