Isle of Man Archery Club Report

This week’s York/Hereford round was abandoned due to somewhat extreme conditions with gale force winds and heavy rain making conditions to dangerous to compete. 

Next week’s round is the annual May Day Windsor Trophy this will be a well contested event from the ranks of the recurve and compound and all ages, senior and junior alike.

Everyone wants the coveted trophy in their cabinets.

This round is imperial and shot over three distances 60, 50 and 40 yards for the seniors and 40, 30 and 20 yards for the juniors with three dozen arrows at each distance.  Also imperial scoring 9 for a gold, 7 for a red, 5 for a blue, 3 for a black and 1 for a white.

Everyone is reminded that this is the big-one - a three quarter day shoot so field setup with be 09:30am for sighters at 10:30.

Archers are urged to turn out in the morning also good luck wishes to Isle of Man Bank Sportswoman of the Year Aalin George who is of to Porec in Croatia to compete in the European Junior Cup next week.
