Selection of Douglas Mayor elect approved. Council members’ responsibilities allocated.

At a meeting of the Council of the Borough of Douglas, held on Wednesday 2nd May, 2012, it was agreed unanimously that the selection of Councillor David Ashford to serve as Mayor of the Borough for the year commencing 9th May 2012, as originally approved at a private meeting on Friday 30th March, be confirmed subject to election at the annual Council meeting on 9th May.

It was also unanimously agreed that Councillor David Christian, J.P., be elected Leader of the Council and Chair of the Executive Committee for the 2012-14 municipal years and that Members be allocated to Advisory Committees, Pensions and Standards Committees.
