Captain Nigel Malpass elected Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2012

At the Annual General Meeting of Ramsey Town Commissioners held on Tuesday May 2, 2012, Captain Nigel Malpass was elected chairman of the board for the third successive year.

Proposer Richard Radcliffe, lead member for finance, said Captain Malpass had led the board ‘with distinction’ for the past two years. In a short acceptance speech Captain Malpass said he was honoured to have been appointed. ‘Being a commissioner’, he said, ‘is about service to the people of Ramsey’ and he added that it had been ‘humbling’ over the past two years to  have had the good fortune to have met so many people applying their skills to the benefit of the town. He concluded by thanking his fellow commissioners and officers for their commitment and said he was looking forward to working with them over the coming 12 months.

Captain Malpass will be supported in his duties by Sylvia Beattie who was elected deputy chairman.
