KHG Senior Open returns for 2012

by isleofman.com 8th May 2012

Senior golfers are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win an exclusive private golf clinic with European Seniors Tour champion Bernard Gallacher OBE, in the prestigious KHG Senior Open Golf Competition.

The event will culminate in a glittering Gala Dinner, in aid of Isle of Man children’s hospice Rebecca House, where Gallacher will present the prizes to this year’s winners. Entries are already being received from across the island. In addition, this year has also attracted interest from UK-based entrants, which is testament to the success of the 2011 event.

KHG Funds – the innovative fund range, managed by Iocal investment boutique Creechurch Capital – is encouraging competitive senior golfers from across the island to attend. This year, entrants will be split into two categories – ‘seniors’, for those aged between 50 and 64 and ‘super seniors’, for those who are 65 and over.

Debbie Gardiner, event organiser, commented: “The split age category increases the competitive element for all players. Last year was a huge success and we believe this year’s series will be better than ever.”

Commenting on KHG Funds’ sponsorship of the series, Glen Cochrane, director of KHG Funds, added: “The Isle of Man is a well known golfers’ haven, so it’s particularly appropriate that the island should host a competition of this calibre. A lesson with Bernard Gallacher is an amazing opportunity to receive tips!”

He continued: “Creechurch is committed to supporting the local community and we’re delighted to be contributing to such a worthy cause as Rebecca House. We hope this competition will prove to be a very positive way to promote the KHG Fund range to the island’s residents.”

The competition will take place on the following dates: 24 May at Rowany Golf Club, 28 June at Douglas Golf Club, 20 July at King Edward Bay Golf Club and 16 August at Ramsey Golf Club. Given the level of interest, all entries will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A full handicap will apply.

The entry fee for this year’s event is ?60, which will include four days' golf greenage and refreshments before and during every round – an entertaining and appreciated feature of last year’s event.

Players requiring an entry form or any additional information, should contact Debbie Gardiner at KHG Funds on 01624 653 810 or visit www.khgfunds.com.
