The I Love Manx campaign launched the 2012 “Chef of the Year” competition at Orrisdale Farm, Ballasalla with a delicious Manx lamb recipe cooked by DEFA Minister Phil Gawne, MHK, Brian Brumby, Vice President of the Manx NFU and Gary Cregeen, Sales and Marketing Manager of Manx Gas Ltd, sponsors of the competition.
The recipe featured new season Manx lamb and fresh Manx grown vegetables and set a high standard for competition entrants to follow.
I Love Manx is seeking keen professional chefs to enter this annual competition which emphasises the use of Manx produced ingredients. Entrants will be asked to cook in front of a live audience and judges in the Manx Food Theatre at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show on Friday 10th August at 3pm. Finalists will compete for the accolade of I Love Manx “Chef of the Year” at the Isle of Man Food & Drink Festival on Saturday 22nd September at 3pm, where the judges will include celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott.

The closing date for entries is 22nd June, 2012. The prize for the winner will be ?500 cash plus a full page advertisement for their place of work in Manx Life or Money Media.
