A candidate in last month’s Local Elections has announced his intentions to stand in the Douglas Borough Council By-Election in Athol Ward.
George Campbell, from Westminster Drive in the town has declared his interest after a seat became vacant following the death of long-standing Councillor and former Mayor, Mrs Doreen Kinrade.
George, has had a keen interest in local politics for some time and a desire to serve the ratepayer of Douglas. George said, “Whilst I was un-successful in April, meeting people on the doorsteps and hearing their views gave me even more of an appetite to get involved and try to do something for the community."
George, 33, is employed by a local bank as Community Affairs Manager and is also involved in a number of local charities.
