Archbishop of York to Visit the Island

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu is visiting the Isle of Man this coming weekend on Sunday 27 May and Monday 28 May.

On his visit he will meet with Bishop Robert, the Lieutenant Governor and on Sunday afternoon he will be attending 'Baptism on the Beach' in Peel on the west coast of the Island at 3.00pm.

With good weather already on the way this promises to be an exciting afternoon of celebration as candidates are baptised in the sea witnessed by the crowds that gather.

As this is Pentecost Sunday in the church calendar the Archbishop will leasd worship and preach in a Pentecost Celebration at St George's Church, in Douglas the Island's capital at 6.30pm.

On Monday 28 May he will meet with the Clergy, Readers and other Diocesan officers at a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am in St Mary's on the Harbour, Castletown the ancient Island capital before concluding his visit after lunch.
