Chief Minister – Island is proud of Robin Gibb

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2012

Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK has written to Robin Gibb’s widow to convey the Island’s sympathy and sadness over her husband’s death.

The text of the Chief Minister’s letter to Dwina Gibb is as follows:

‘Dear Dwina,

I am writing on behalf of the Government and people of the Isle of Man to express the Island’s condolences on the passing of Robin. Although he achieved success and fame at a global level Robin never lost touch with his Manx roots and he always found time to support the land of his birth, both on and off the Island. The work that you both did for the Rebecca House children’s hospice was a particularly valuable contribution to our community.

Robin Gibb was proud of the Isle of Man and the Isle of Man is proud of Robin Gibb.

Our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.’
