This week the scheduled imperial round was swapped up to a Full Fita. This sounded like a good idea mid-week with a great forecast for the weekend, but like all best laid plans something always stands in the way this week it was the extreme south westerly winds, these winds were on the border-line of having to cancel the shoot.
In the gents compound Peter Mumford edged out a fifteen point lead over Billy Lightfoot who also had a slender three point lead over Colin Moore after the first distance, Moore started slow but now has his game face on and puts in a fantastic 70m to draw even with Mumford and push out the lead over Lightfoot to twenty two points only for Moore and Lightfoot to decide that the windy conditions were to strong and retired from the Fita to let Mumford go on to finish uncontested.
In the ladies compound Sarah Rigby took a slender one point lead from Joy Gough at the end of the first distance, Rigby started putting the pressure on to edge out another five points at the end of the second distance to take the lead to six points going into the lunch break, Gough came back fighting and court Rigby napping to storm out a fantastic 50 meter to take the advantage by fifty five points this was an unassailable lead that Rigby could not pull back.
Only one archer competing in the ladies recurve this week which gave Karen Lott the easy victory in the junior recurve Adam Wright showed a fantastic display of archery to top the podium from Charlotte Harris with Bradley Layton picking up the last spot on the podium, other archers shooting were Rob Lott who shot a metric 1 for the first time and achieved a personal best and Kirsten George shot a Fita 50.

Next week’s round with be a the Queen’s Jubilee Double Fita 70 / 50 as part of the scratch league there will be shorter distances for the juniors and the less experienced archer and as always these will be held at Ronaldsway sports fields with field set up being 9:30am for 10:30.
