The Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce the launch of the 2012 Visitor Survey incorporating the Tourism Awards.
Visitors and residents are requested to nominate a tourism business, organisation or individual for an award by telling us about their experience of outstanding quality or service. The Isle of Man visitor survey is designed to improve our understanding of the visitor experience aiming to identify the strengths of the Isle of Man as a visitor destination and to track visitor satisfaction. Anyone who completes the survey will be entered into a free prize draw to win a luxury weekend break to the Isle of Man.
The Tourism Awards scheme has been running since 2009 to showcase the Island’s offering to our visitors and to receive the recognition they deserve, as well as setting a standard for industry peers. Do you run a tourism business? Your business can benefit from the PR and media coverage generated by winning an award. Previous winners have told us that they have seen increased levels of business as a result.
The seven award categories are:
• Best customer Service (individual)
• Best visitor accommodation
• Best eating out experience
• Best camp site/hotel
• Best attraction
• Best town/village
• Event of the year
Nominations can be made for one category only. Cards have been distributed to various locations around the Island, including the Isle of Man Welcome Centre in the Sea Terminal, Ronaldsway airport, all Manx National Heritage sites, large hotels, Curraghs Wildlife Park, Railway Stations, Douglas Town Hall and Commissioners offices. Survey cards can be requested by emailing tourismawards@gov.im and should be returned to Isle of Man Tourism by post. Alternatively, they can be completed online at www.visitisleofman.com/tourismawards.
