Chrystals estate agents recently held another successful property auction with a cottage in Sandygate being sold for ?302,000. Ellan Ash, Clenagh Road, is a detached, single storey, cottage in need of extensive modernization/renovation and created considerable interest during open house viewings and at the auction itself.
Les Quirk, Office Manager and Auctioneer at Chrystals’ Ramsey office, said: “We were really pleased with interest in Ellan Ash and there was a great turnout at the auction. Despite the inclement weather around 40 people attended and bidding commenced at ?180,000 rising rapidly in ?5,000 bids to ?250,000. After a short break a new bidder took the price up to ?302,000 at which the property was sold. This final figure was mid-way between our estimate of ?275,000 and ?325,000. Properties which need renovation or modernization are often ideally suited for sale at auction and Ellan Ash, with the added feature of eight acres of land, made it a perfect choice to be sold this way.”
Ellan Ash sits in eight acres of land with the boundary on the north side being the Lhen Trench. The Advocates acting for the vendor were Dickinson Cruickshank, Water Street, Ramsey. Chrystals estate agents, valuers and surveyors has three offices - Victoria St, Douglas, Parliament Street, Ramsey and Station Road, Port Erin. The company’s Douglas office is organizing a property auction on Thursday June 28 at noon. It will be held at Flat 1, 1 Royal Drive, Onchan - the property which is up for sale. The estimated price is ?55,000 to ?70,000 and open house viewings are available every Saturday from June 2 to June 23 from 11am to noon. An open house viewing will also be held on Tuesday June 26 from noon to 1pm. For more details go to www.chrystals.co.im or call 01624 623778.
