Fatal Road Traffic Collision on the Douglas to Peel Road on Monday 4th June

At approximately 09.20 am on Monday the 4th June 2012, a three vehicle Road Traffic Collision occurred  on the A1 Douglas to Peel Road  on the approach to the 30mph restriction zone entering Crosby heading from Peel.
 
Two cars and a motorbike were involved in the collision which resulted in the rider of the motorbike suffering fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The road had to be closed for some considerable time while enquiries were conducted at the scene by accident investigators. Police would like to thank members of the public and visitors to the Island at the scene waiting for the TT Race Fixture, for coming forward with witness information and their patience while the road was closed.
 
A significant number of witnesses have already been identified and come forward but Police are appealing for anyone else that was in the area at that time and witnessed the accident to come forward. Anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit at Douglas Police Headquarters.
