DCCL thanks everyone for support during the Olympic Torch Relay

Following the successful visit of the Olympic Torch to the Isle of Man, the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure has thanked everyone involved with helping the local organisation of the Relay and the public for their overwhelming support.
 
Hon Tim Crookall MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure said: ‘Saturday was an extremely proud day for the Isle of Man with fantastic racing in the TT and the highly successful and well supported Olympic Torch Relay.’
 
The Minister continued: ‘On behalf of the Department and everyone involved the organisation of the Relay around the Island, I would like to express thanks to everyone who came out and showed support for the locally nominated Torchbearers, all of whom were excellent ambassadors for the Isle of Man. The overwhelming support from the community, commissioners, police, TT organisers, media, private sector and Government Departments has shown how well the Island comes together for such a prestigious community occasion.’
