The Children's Centre - Help us to break cake sale record

by isleofman.com 11th June 2012

The Children’s Centre is aiming to organise a record breaking cake sale to raise funds for the charity. Schools, businesses or other organisations are being urged to organise cake baking sales with the aim of beating last year’s total when 20 organisations raised more than ?2,000. The Cakes For Kids event is being held on Friday June 29.

Michelle O’Malley, Fundraising Manager at The Children’s Centre, said:

“Every penny raised will go directly towards supporting The Children’s Centre’s charitable work in the community. To get involved you just need some enthusiasm, a sense of fun and a fair bit of buttercream! Anyone can take part and it’s a great event for children to help with or for work colleagues to use as a team building exercise. Everyone that takes part gets a certificate for their team and a warm and fuzzy feeling in their tummy because they’ve helped a great local cause!”

The Children’s Centre’s fundraising team can give advice on how to organise and publicise cake sales.

All money raised will go towards supporting The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects, such as Out2Play, Philip Christian Centre, Mobex, the Child Contact Centre and the Community Farm, which provide positive experiences for children, young people and families across the Island.
