TT2012 has been Manx2.com’s best ever, with passenger numbers up 11% compared to TT2011 and hopes are high for next year too, with flights for TT2013 just released and on sale today!
During the first ten days of June, Manx2.com welcomed 3,945 passengers on board, which represents a rise of 11%. This compares to 3,544 recorded the previous year. More than 300 flights operated in this ten-day period with an average load factor above 60% and Friday 1 June was a standout day for the company with 49 flights to and from the Island. Reliability and punctuality were excellent too, with no flights cancelled and 94% of flights arriving early or on time.
Manx2.com Managing Director, David Buck, said: ‘We’re particularly delighted with the growth on our Belfast, Newcastle and Blackpool routes this TT as well as the strong first TT for our newest destination, London Oxford Airport. Anyone still high on the excitement of this year’s festival or those who missed out can get their tickets booked for 2013 via our website – www.manx2.com.’
Bookings for TT2013 went live at 1am this morning (12 June), just two days after the end of this year’s festival. Flights start from ?29.95 one-way and there’s no booking fee, credit or debit card charges with Manx2.com.
This year, Manx2.com added additional flights to its regular timetable between the Isle of Man and Belfast, Blackpool, Leeds, Newcastle and Gloucester. Six special TT return flights between Cardiff and the Island were repeated and there were five return flights from Anglesey, ahead of the start of the summer timetable on 13 July. Manx2.com also adapted its timetables to cater for shorter stays and doubled the frequency on some thinner routes to offer extra day returns on race days, which proved very popular with visitors.
Passengers were welcomed to the Island by Manx2.com’s dedicated TT ‘Meet and Greet’ team who handed out Sure branded goody bags containing a free Sure mobile sim pack as well as general TT special offers and tourist information from Manx2.com, Claremont Hotel, Elite Helicopters, Isle of Man Golf Tours and the Bikerguard. And two lucky passengers – father and son, John and Jonathan Randall - who arrived from Leeds Bradford International Airport on Friday 1 June were winners of Manx2.com Gold tickets for TT2013 and a Sure phone.
Mr Buck continued: ‘We hope everyone who came to the Isle of Man TT festival this year enjoyed themselves and we look forward to welcoming them back next year – or even earlier if they want to see the Island at a slightly quieter time!’
