Park pulls in the crowds for Ramsey Sprint

by isleofman.com 13th June 2012

Mooragh Park in Ramsey took centre stage on June 5th when it became the focal point for visitors to the Ramsey Sprint.

Crowds descended on the park for this annual event that forms one of the highlights of the TT festival. Ramsey Town Commissioners’ lead member for parks and leisure Dr Alex Allinson, who joined competitors and visitors at the event, said: ‘Once again Mooragh Park demonstrated its suitability for hosting a wide range of activities – from crowd-pulling occasions such as the Ramsey Sprint to serving as the setting for a number of sporting challenges or simply as a tranquil setting for family days out by the lake. Despite less than ideal weather people’s enthusiasm for the sprint remained far from dampened, the park and surrounding area comfortably accommodating the numbers.

‘The Commissioners are committed to maintaining the park to a high standard year round, offering a range of amenities appealing to all ages and abilities and ensuring Mooragh Park remains a valuable asset to the town.’
