Ramsey Commissioners are asking members of the public to lend their photographs of royal visits to the town to provide the content for a photographic display to be hosted at the Town Hall in Ramsey as part of the 2012 Ramsey National Week celebrations.
The town was famously graced with a royal visit by Queen Victoria in September 1847 and, more recently, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited Ramsey in 1972 and 1989 accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh. Other royals including the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and Princess Alexander have also visited the town.
Anyone with photographs or video taken in Ramsey during a royal visit is asked to bring them to the Town Hall where they can be copied for inclusion in the exhibition. Contributors whose photographs are selected for the exhibition will be credited.
The exhibition will open in the foyer of Ramsey Town Hall on Saturday 30th June at 10am and run for two weeks.
The Ramsey National Week committee has arranged a programme of events for June 30th – July 8th, details of which will be posted on the Commissioners’ and National Week’s websites in due course.
