At the end of May unemployment stood at 956, an unemployment rate of 2.1%.

During the month 195 signed on and 276 signed off, a fall of 81. Of the total unemployed 688 are males and 268 are females.

A total of 558 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month and at the end of the month 228 positions were still vacant and held on file.
