Party in the Park: July 7th

by isleofman.com 19th June 2012

Douglas Borough Council is pulling out all the celebratory stops to mark the Queen Lord of Man’s Diamond Jubilee with a party in Noble’s Park on Saturday July 7th from 1 - 6pm.

Brought to you by Douglas Borough Council with sponsorship from PokerStars and support from 3FM the Party in Park promises to be a great afternoon out for all the family and will provide an opportunity to enjoy the new picnic area, see artists perform live on the PokerStars stage, take part in family races and search out great finds in the car boot stalls.  There will be charity stalls, bouncy castles – for adults and children - along with children’s rides, face painting, Punch and Judy shows and much more. The afternoon will also see His Worship the Mayor of Douglas Councillor David Ashford JP and members of the regeneration and community advisory committee judge the Douglas schools’ Isle of Man countryside-themed artwork competition.

Regeneration and community advisory committee lead member Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘Thanks to the tremendous hard work of Council staff, local organisations, volunteer groups and private individuals, combined with the generous support of PokerStars and 3FM, the Party in the Park looks set to be a memorable occasion. The event will also be an opportunity to showcase the range of attractions and upgraded amenities in which the Council has invested to ensure Noble’s Park has an enduring appeal to all ages.’
