Young Farmers reap a rich harvest for RNLI

by isleofman.com 25th June 2012

Representatives of the Isle of Man Federation of Young Farmers visited Ramsey RNLI lifeboat Station on Thursday evening (21st June) and presented the Branch with a cheque for ?400.

Similar cheques have been presented to Douglas, Port St Mary, Port Erin and Peel lifeboats. Thursday night is training night for Ramsey’s volunteer lifeboat crew, so the visiting Young Farmers swapped their boots for yellow wellies and were given a tour of the boathouse and Ramsey’s lifeboat. After a session of trying-on the all weather crew gear they presented their cheque to coxswain Mark Kenyon.

The money was raised for the RNLI charity in “the Lucky Programme Draw” at the 41st Young Farmers Concert held at the Gaiety earlier in the year, whilst the retiring bucket collection raised money for the Children’s Centre.
