A 2yr old male Japanese Spitz dog  was injured at an address in Queens Pier Road, Ramsey on Monday 25th June. The dog was within the curtilage of the property when it received an injury to the forehead. It is thought that a stone may have been thrown at the animal from outside the property. The dog was in the garden between 3pm and 6.30pm.

Sergeant Andy Kneen of Ramsey Police said:

“This incident has been reported to the Police. Interested parties have widely circulated this incident via social media. This has led to much speculation as the mechanism of how the dog was hurt and whom may have been responsible. Some comments have been ill informed and inflammatory. Both the owner of the animal and Ramsey Police ask that the focus of interest be on the animal’s welfare and ask that anyone who has any 1st hand  information to pass it Ramsey Police, or anonymously to crimestoppers”

Anyone who has information about this incident should contact Police Headquarters on 631212. A reward may be payable as a result of your information.

You may also contact Isle of Man Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers is an independent Manx charity established to enable callers to pass information regarding criminal activity anonymously. Crimestoppers is not an agency of the Police. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details.
