New MD for Scottish Widows Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 2nd July 2012

Nigel Rothery has been appointed managing director of Scottish Widows in the Isle of Man.

Born and bred in Yorkshire, Mr Rothery has worked in various senior management positions within the organisation under the CMI, HSBOS and latterly Lloyds Banking Group brands since 1985 and assumes the post previously held by Dean Waddingham, who has relocated to the UK.

Mr Rothery, who is a member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors, said: ‘I am proud to be building on the valuable contribution made to the group by Dean Waddingham, who developed the business and helped forge exceptionally strong links with the local community. It is therefore my intention to work closely with our 150-strong workforce to ensure Scottish Widows’ Isle of Man operation, which has some ?6 billion in funds under management, continues to maintain its position as one of the Island’s pre-eminent finance sector employers, long recognised as a business with a deep commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility obligations.’
