by isleofman.com 3rd July 2012

On Monday  2nd July, Ramsey Police recovered the chalice that was stolen last week, from Jurby Church. A 22yr old Ramsey man has been arrested and interviewed in connection with this seizure. He was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.

Police wish to remind the public that two engraved silver collection plates are outstanding.

Sgt Andy Kneen of Ramsey Police said:

“We are anxious to hear from anyone with any information in connection with this crime. We believe that the chalice and plates may have been offered for sale to dealers. I would ask anyone who has been approached to get in touch with the Police.  Although there has been an early arrest, this is very much a “live” enquiry involving officers throughout the Island.”

Anyone who has information about this incident should contact Police Headquarters on 631212. A reward may be payable as a result of your information.

You may also contact Isle of Man Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers is an independent Manx charity established to enable callers to pass information regarding criminal activity anonymously.

Crimestoppers is not an agency of the Police. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details.
