BBC Coast programme featuring the Island to be repeated

by isleofman.com 18th July 2012
BBC Two’s Coast will be repeating the 2010 Isle of Man programme on Friday 27th July at 7.00pm.  The Island was featured in the first episode of series 5 where a team of presenters, led by Neil Oliver, took a circular tour of the Irish Sea to visit every country of the British Isles, with the Isle of Man as the hub of the wheel.

The programme includes the Laxey Wheel, the Snaefell Mountain Railway, the extension of the airport and the old settlement that was found when it was being excavated, the story of the Solway Harvester trawler that sank close to the Island and the Tower of Refuge.

Coast is one of the most fascinating and enjoyable TV documentary series of recent years, exploring our unique coastline and bringing together social and natural history, ecology, technology, science of environmental change and more.

Definitely not one to be missed!
