Some of the Island’s top sportsmen and women were put through their paces at a recent Time Management workshop at the Isle of Man Sport Institute, hosted by local training company TLC.
As part of their sponsorship arrangement, TLC are supporting the Institute’s Athlete Education Programme.
Sports Performance Co-ordinator Chris Quine explained that athletes must have good organisational skills: “Training, education, friends, family – they all make demands on our athletes which need to be balanced. If we can help them to organise themselves better, reduce stress and create more time to do their training. Finding even 20 minutes a day would give nearly two hours extra training time a week or a hundred hours in a year!!”
Sue Gee for TLC ran the workshop and added:
“Good time management gives you a feeling of control, and that helps with the focus that is so important to athletes. Balancing the competing pressures on their time can help them prioritise, and achieve more. It’s great to be able to help!”
Isle of Man Sport Aid is a registered charity established by Isle of Man Sport to assist the most talented of the Isle of Man’s sportsmen and women.
