A couple from Peel have won this year’s Tynwald Day competition.

The competition posed numerical-themed questions about the Tynwald Day ceremony and associated events at St Johns during this year’s Manx national day celebrations. Winner was Janet Kneen of Peel who was presented with her ?100 cash prize by the President of Tynwald, Clare Christian MLC.

Mrs Kneen said: ‘Having been brought up in St Johns and now living in Peel I have hardly ever missed going to the Tynwald Day celebrations. I’ve always entered the competition but this year was the first time I’ve won, thanks to a little help from my husband, Geoff.’
