HMRC Offshore Coordination Unit presentation to STEP Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 30th July 2012

Greg Skyte & Christopher Barlow of HMRC will be leading a presentation giving an insight into the recently established HMRC Offshore Coordination Unit (OCU).

The Birmingham based OCU is staffed by 100 skilled offshore analysts and technical tax experts.  In a project to exploit the client data stolen from HSBC Geneva – the unit has revealed that many of the assets being revealed under the Lichtenstein Disclosure Facility (LDF) have been concealed there since the second world war.

The event on August 16 is being organised by the Isle of Man branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and will be held at the Claremont Hotel, Loch Promenade. Booking in and refreshments start at 12.30pm and the presentation will run from 1-2pm.

STEP is the leading worldwide professional body for practitioners in the fields of trusts, estates and related issues. Full members are often the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field and members advise clients on the broad business of the management of personal finance.

For STEP members and students the event costs ?10 and for non-STEP members there is fee of ?35 per delegate. For a booking form contact the branch administrator at STEP (Isle of Man) Limited at Cooil Shellagh House, Douglas Road, Kirk Michael IM6 1AU or via email at admin@stepiom.com.
