Groves Road recreation space re-opened

by isleofman.com 10th August 2012

The Groves Road public recreation space has been re-opened and a new football pitch created on the site owned by Douglas Borough Council.

Regeneration and community advisory committee lead member Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘The Council is keen to provide as many public open green spaces and recreational amenities as possible across the Borough. To this end we have created a new pitch which, while not ready for play yet, will be a welcome addition to the sporting facilities the Council is able to offer.’

Members of the public are asked to take care in using the new pitch in order to allow the grass to become established.
