Rally Isle of Man to host launch event

by isleofman.com 16th August 2012

Rally Isle of Man powered by Microgaming, and the Duke Stages, will be re-launched in style, with a new event at the Mount Murray Hotel at the end of the month.

It will take place on the evening of Tuesday 28th August and will offer free entry to everyone in any way interested in the rally, media, competitors, officials, spectators, sponsors and general public alike.

The night will start the build-up proper to the return of the event renowned as one of the greatest challenged in British isles motorsport, falling just three days before entries close and three weeks before the crews return to the Manx roads that the event has made famous.

The night will feature an opportunity to meet the ‘new’ organising team, hear about the ambitious plans they have for the event, and perhaps all-importantly some of the gems of the ground-breaking route will be announced in detail for the first time!

There’ll also be plenty of banter with some of the top drivers and pace-note callers, and a chance to hear from event sponsors.

“We are very aware that we have to work hard to re-establish ourselves”, says John Gill, Rally Chairman. “We’ve been blown away by all the positive support we’ve received since announcing that we would be reviving the rally after last years disappointing non-event, and this is part of the pay-back to all those who are behind us. Come along and join the fun!”

So put the date in your diary - 8pm on Tuesday 28th August is the chance to be a part of the new Rally isle of Man and Duke Stages. Consider yourself invited!
