Police appeal after vehicle fails to stop after collision

At 9:45pm on Wednesday 8th August 2012 a Fail to Stop Road Traffic Collision has occurred on the Old Castletown Road just past the entrance to Meary Veg Sewerage Treatment Plant.  A white Ford Transit style van was travelling in the direction of Douglas when it has crossed the centre white line and collided with the offside wing mirror of a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.  The Impact has caused the wing mirror casing to break and the mirror to smash leaving the owner with an expensive repair bill.  The Van failed to stop and continued towards Douglas.
 
Police would urge the driver of the Van to come forward and provide his details to Police.
 
Police ask anyone who has witnessed this incident or if anyone has any information which could lead to the identity of the offender please ring Port Erin Police Station on 832222 or Douglas Police Headquarters on 631212.
