Police are appealing for witnesses after an item of safety equipment was stolen from the Fire and rescue service on Wednesday evening.
Fire service personnel left an LED ‘Trafiflare’ flashing beacon on top of a cone on Peel Road due to heavy flooding, it was left unattended and later discovered to have been stolen.
The beacon was left in place at around 9pm and noticed missing at around 10:30pm on Wednesday 29th August.
A witness saw a young female remove the beacon and take it away. The fire and rescue service would appreciate this beacon being returned to them and have requested that if anybody knows it whereabouts, please can they take it into any Fire or Police station.

Police are seeking witnesses to damage caused to a Red Renault Megane between Thursday 30th August and Saturday 1st September 2012 in Victoria Terrace, Douglas.
A sharp implement has been used to put a large scratch down the side of the vehicle.

Police in Peel report that between about the 17th and 31st of August 2012 a quantity of paving slabs have been taken from an insecure yard area at the rear of Paradise and Gell in Peel. The yard is accessed via a lane in Douglas Street near to the Peel Post Office. The slabs which are described as a buff / khaki colour are in three different sizes 600 x 600mm, 600 x 300mm and 300 x 300mm. Approximately ? a pallet of slabs have been taken which would obviously require the use of a vehicle. Anyone who has information about this incident is urged to contact Constable Mark Kerruish at Peel Police Station on 842208.

Police are investigating the theft of two push bikes from a garden on Malvern Road, Douglas throughout the evening of Wednesday 29th August into the morning of Thursday 30th August 2012. One of the bikes was a child’s BMX style bike which was originally red however had been pray painted silver. The other was an adult’s bike in red. Police are appealing to anybody in the area who may have come across these bikes
