Police investigating theft appeal for witnesses

by isleofman.com 4th September 2012

Ramsey Police are investigating the theft of a pair grey coloured Marks & Spencer jeans and the contents from  the pockets between 2.30pm and 3pm on Saturday 1st September 2012.

The jeans and a towel were left on the sea wall opposite the public toilets on Laxey Promenade, while the owner went for a swim in the sea.  Amongst the items in the pockets of the jeans were a black iPhone, a black wallet and a set of car keys on a beige coloured key fob.

The investigating Officer in the matter PC Will MOFFATT said “It is my understanding that the Promenade area was busy with people at the time on what was a warm sunny day.  This appears to be an opportunist theft which has caused considerable disruption, upset and loss to the aggrieved party in this matter”.

Anyone with any information in respect of this matter is asked to contact Ramsey Police Station on 812234 or any Police Officer.

You may also contact Isle of Man Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers is an independent Manx charity established to enable callers to pass information regarding criminal activity anonymously. Crimestoppers is not an agency of the Police. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details.
