Police appeal after money stolen from another Church

by isleofman.com 6th September 2012
On Thursday 30th August 2012, between the hours of 08.30am – 17.30pm, the donation box at St Bridget’s Church in Bride was forced open and an unknown quantity of money removed.  Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a vehicle or persons near the church.

Police believe this theft may be linked to the theft of collection money from Maughold Church on the same day.  On both occasions, the wooden collection boxes were forced open and cash taken.

Sergeant Vinny Lund said “Ramsey Police are stepping up patrols around rural churches, but I am appealing to the public to contact us if they see anything suspicious.  Anyone with information about either of these thefts is asked to contact at Ramsey Police Station on 812234 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111”.

Crimestoppers is an independent Manx charity established to enable callers to pass information regarding criminal activity anonymously.

Crimestoppers is not an agency of the Police. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details.
