by isleofman.com 12th September 2012

At around 2am on Saturday 1st September 2012 an incident occurred where a female was assaulted on Parliament Street, Ramsey.  PC Diamond says ‘this was a prolonged assault that took place in the early hours when people were making their way home’.

The person that reported being assaulted was a 17yr old Ramsey woman, who subsequently received treatment for facial injuries at Nobles Hospital (as an out patient). The incident was reported immediately, and Police attended the scene. The Police have identified and have already spoken with a number of witnesses.

Sgt Kneen said:

“Whilst we have already spoken with several witnesses and are grateful for their assistance, we would like to speak to a middle aged man, who we believe walked passed this incident as it was happening. We’re told that this man was walking a dog.

Whilst an arrest was made on the night, no charges have yet been brought, and enquiries are continuing.”

If any person has seen or heard about this event please contact PC Diamond at Ramsey Police Station on 812234 or telephone 631212 for any information regarding this incident.
