Police Recruitment Campaign

by isleofman.com 13th September 2012

There has been an overwhelming response to the latest recruitment drive.  The Constabulary received 145 application forms in response to the recent adverts and exposure in the local media.

Chief Inspector Simon Lowe said “It has been fantastic to have so many people interested in a career in the Isle of Man Constabulary.  We are already inviting more people than ever before to undertake the fitness test in October.  Those who are successful will take part in a classroom assessment with the most suitable applicants being invited to take part in the final selection procedure at the Ard Whallin outdoor pursuit centre in November.”

T/PS Adrian Shimmin explained that due to the high number of application forms received the selection criteria were rigidly applied.  However, he said “We hope that those who have not been successful on this occasion do not become despondent.  People who may well make good Police Officers in the future have not been invited to the next stage of the selection process because they don’t have the required educational qualifications, full driving licence or have an acceptable link to the Island at this time.”
