World Championship Viking Longboat Races supports nine Manx charities

by isleofman.com 18th September 2012

Nine Manx charities have recently received donations from the teams who participated in this year’s World Championship Viking Longboat Races, in association with Royal London 360° and Manx Radio.

Prize money was award to the teams who finished first, second and third in the male, female and mixed categories at the event in Peel.

Viking Longboat World Championship Chairman, Nigel Rawlinson, commented: “This is now the event’s 49th year, and once again we are delighted to be able to support so many Manx charities which, in turn, support a large number of Manx residents. I would like to thank all of the teams who participated so enthusiastically again in this year’s event, and our sponsors Royal London 360°, Manx Radio and Heron and Brearley, without whom this would not be able to happen.”
