The Union Mills-based manufacturing company DLP Limited has announced a number of internal promotions as it changes its management structure as part of a continuous improvement programme. DLP – market leader in the provision of showering, daily living and kitchen solutions for people with mobility needs – employs around 70 staff at its Snugborough headquarters.
The changes have been overseen by Group Operations Director Bruce Lockton who said: ‘The appointments will provide a more focused and robust structure in connection with the manufacture of our quality products. Successful planning is the key. All four people who are the subjects of the appointments are long-term employees and our policy is to promote from within wherever possible.’
Scott Findlay has been promoted from his role as Screens and Kitchens Production Manager to overall Production Manager, assuming responsibility for all manufacturing activities within DLP. Scott will report directly to Production Director Dave Hallworth.
The next appointment sees Lee France being promoted to Kitchens Supervisor in which role he will be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchens production side of DLP’s manufacturing activities. Meanwhile Andrew Watson has been promoted to Screens Supervisor and will oversee the day to day operation of the shop floor in producing shower screens.
Finally, Sinead White becomes Production Office Administration Manager which involves managing the administration aspects of the daily production and despatching of screens, trays and kitchens from DLP.
Sinead’s appointment also coincides with the news that products designed in the Isle of Man but manufactured by sub-contract partners elsewhere will now be available from stock at DLP. Sinead will have a significant role to play in this latest development as her responsibilities in this area include order processing and inventory control, whilst Tom Maynard, DLP’s Sales Surveyor, will be available to support stockists and contractors and to advise potential customers.
Tim Baker, DLP’s Senior Executive director said ‘These developments will ensure we provide better service and support to the plumbers’ merchants who stock our products and the various contractors and other customers who install them on the Island.’
In addition to the shower screens, trays and kitchens that are manufactured at Snugborough, the range of additional items now available via DLP include wet floor formers for wet rooms, shower trays and associated pumped and gravity wastes, Luda electric showers and ranges of seats and grab rails.
Previously, Isle of Man customers for these products were required to place their orders with AKW in Droitwich Spa and they were delivered direct from Worcestershire.
