Agreement between IOM Gambling Supervision Commission and Malta Lotteries & Gaming Authority

by isleofman.com 24th September 2012
The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission and Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority have now entered into an agreement which establishes a formal basis for cooperation and information sharing between the Isle of Man and Malta gambling authorities. The agreement has the principles of protection of consumers and preservation of public order at its centre and the common objective of improving regulatory standards in respect of these principles through exchange of knowledge, provision of assistance and establishment of a good working relationship.

The agreement underlines the Isle of Man’s ongoing commitment to international cooperation and is a strong endorsement from another European country of the excellent reputation that the Island has earned through a decade of safely regulating gambling activity online.

Both regulators look forward to capitalising on the provisions within the agreement to explore and improve the consumer protection opportunities that cooperation offers, to streamline processes and to create efficiencies for business.
