Crooked House urgent appeal for models

by isleofman.com 24th September 2012

Crooked House's alternative art classes (as featured in August's Gallery magazine) are looking for live models to join them.

In particular they're looking for dancers or performers who could express a sense of physicality in their poses, or models who can bring their personality to the stage.

They are currently booking for their next class tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd October, and their Halloween-themed class on Tuesday 30th October so need to hear from people as soon as possible.

They pay a standard ?20 (plus tips) for each 2 hour session and costumes/props are chosen by the models so that they feel comfortable. For instance a leotard, tutu & pointe shoes for a ballet dancer, a retro sundress & parasol for a vintage feel or a corset & seamed stockings for a Bettie Page inspired style.

They welcome new artists too, anyone is welcome from students to professionals. Art supplies are available at each class (or artists can bring their own) and classes run from 7pm to 9pm in the downstairs bar at Havana in Douglas. The first class is free of charge and tickets are just ?10 per person after that.

Anyone interested can see photos from our last class with burlesque dancer Dee Dee, as well as information on the events, on the art class website www.PartyInMyPaints.wordpress.com or contact Louisa for information on crookedhouse@my-desk.co.uk.
