The One World Centre at St Johns has a resplendent new mural at its entrance thanks to the talented children of St John’s Primary School.
Each class at the school was given a theme to illustrate different aspects of sustainability, with some classes portraying positive images and some negative ones.
The result is a highly colourful and thought-provoking series of pictures which now adorn the outside wall at the office of the One World Centre, just inside the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture grounds at Thie Garey Ny Cloie on the Foxdale Road.
Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood, who is Patron of the One World Centre, visited St John’s School to thank the children and view their artwork prior to its installation.
One World Centre Director Rosemary Clarke said, “We were so impressed with how the children visualised the topics they were given. The Year 1 students also came up with the slogan “Piecing the World Together” which reflects both the design of the mural and the work of the One World Centre perfectly.
“We would like to thank all the students and particularly special needs teacher Caryl Anstead who worked closely on this project with us. We hope lots of people will come to visit us and admire it.”
