Microgaming, the world’s largest provider of online gaming software, is pleased to announce that it will be the title sponsor for the Isle of Man Athletic Association’s (IOMAA) Winter Cross Country League and the Isle of Man Cross Country Championship.
This multi-year sponsorship will encompass the League and the Championship, and will last for three seasons. The winter league, which runs from October to February, comprises of five competition rounds held at various locations across the Island. Each round is expected to attract many runners, with entrants of all ages, ranging from 7 to 70!
Chairman of the IOMAA, David Pryke, comments: "Last winter, a record number of athletes took part in the IOMAA's cross country events, regardless of the weather conditions, and we look forward to even more competitors taking part this coming season. It provides an ideal winter training ground for all athletes, as well as providing very competitive competition across all age groups. The Isle of Man Athletics Association is affiliated to England Athletics and is responsible for coordinating and managing athletics in the local area, including the discipline of cross country running. The winter events will commence Sunday 21 October, with round 1 hosted by Manx Harriers at Ballanette, Lonan.
