Ryan Farquhar the current Duke Road Race Rankings Champion recently said an emotional 'farewell' to his legions of fans during the Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup Road Races at Oliver's Mount Scarborough, round 22 of the Duke Road Race Rankings 2012.

The KMR Kawasaki team rider and owner has secured the Duke Road Race Ranking Title for the fifth consecutive year and the seventh time in all since its inception in 2002.

Ryan finished second in the rankings twice, in 2002 and 2005, both times saw Ian Lougher heading the table, with the Ulster-based Welshman taking the title for a third time in 2006.

Ryan's lowest placing in the tables was in 2006 when he was out of action until August of that season through injury. Competing in only five road races, he was placed 23rd.

With one round remaining in the Duke Road Race Rankings 2012, the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix in November, a total of 483 riders have scored points, with 120 having achieved over 100 points and seven have taken over 1000 points this year.

The Newcomers Award for the 2012 season has been won by Sam Wilson who is presently in 10th place.
