The Trustees of the Manx Lottery Trust, as delegated partner of the Big Lottery Fund UK, are inviting applications from charities/organisations for extended term funding, available over a 30 month period, for projects that tackle three key areas of need in the Isle of Man.
In response to independent research, funding is available for projects to address -
1. Substance abuse – Investigation into the roots of the Island’s drug and alcohol issues, addressing the issues, and targeted assistance and support
2. Engagement – Parental interest and support in children’s lives and self –esteem in disengaged or excluded young people
3. Youth opportunity – Provision for children between 16 -18, ex-offenders, and NEETs, and opportunities for non – academic young people
The Trust has a total of ?150,000 on offer, with grants available ranging from between ?1001 and ?150,000 maximum (for an outstanding project that answered all three areas of need).
Projects should focus on people, services, shared learning and measurement of outcomes in the key areas of need and we would urge organisations to come forward with projects which enable them to work in partnership to develop locally owned solutions.
For details of required outcomes please use the following link to our website and refer to the section headed General Awards Programme: www.mlt.org.im/How-To-Apply.aspx.
Mrs Marlene Hendy, Chairman, Manx Lottery Trust says:
“The current financial climate has had a marked impact on funding in the Voluntary and Community Sector and the Trustees now wish to respond to the evolving need of the local community whilst at the same time making use of research carried out to identify areas of need in the Isle of Man. The Trust is hopeful that this invitation to apply for extended term funding will attract a healthy level of interest and stimulate providers to “think outside the box” and come forward with some exciting and imaginative ideas. We really wish to encourage those providers in the third sector to take advantage of this important opportunity to work together and take up the challenge to start to make a difference.”
