Tower of Refuge to go pink to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month

by isleofman.com 1st October 2012

The Department of Infrastructure is marking Breast Cancer Awareness month by once again turning one of the Isle of Man’s most well-known landmarks pink!

Tonight,  (1st October), the lights illuminating the Tower of Refuge will be turned pink to mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month.   Infrastructure staff will also be raising funds through a dress down and wear it pink day on the 26th October.

Angie Aire, Volunteer/Chairman of Breakthrough Breast Cancer Isle of Man said:

‘Breakthrough Breast Cancer Isle of Man is delighted that the Department of Infrastructure is once again supporting our PINK month in October with lighting up the Tower of Refuge and having a 'Wear it PINK' day.  We would also like to thank the Manx public for supporting our charity for the last 20 years, and here's to the next 20! Our aim is a future free from the fear of breast cancer.’
