Skanco Appoints New Technical Consultant

by isleofman.com 2nd October 2012

Skanco Business Systems has announced the expansion of its Engineering team with the appointment of Andy Mooney as an IT Consultant. A senior infrastructure support analyst and network administrator with over 18 years’ experience within the ICT industry, Andy has a proven track record in the design, implementation and management of a number of infrastructure and software installations both in the UK and on the Isle of Man. His new role will see Andy bring a wealth of experience to the Skanco technical team.

Andy relocated to the Island in 2006 to join  a local manufacturing company as an IT Specialist working as part of a select team dispersed across the UK and China and which was responsible for the smooth running of all IT systems and servers in a highly time sensitive and technologically dependent industry. Whilst there, Andy was heavily involved in the relocation of the company’s UK office to a new site as well as a complete overhaul of its existing framework, a project which demanded that total consistency in productivity be maintained. Such experience, coupled with a wealth of complementary qualifications and a keen interest in new technologies, ideally positions Andy within the local IT services industry. His recruitment reflects Skanco’s commitment to sustaining its ability to identify and move into new areas without degradation of existing offerings.

Managing Director, David Butterworth, commented on the appointment: “Remaining at the forefront of IT services provision demands that we furnish our clients with the experience and knowledge base necessary to accommodate any changes likely to take place in this constantly evolving industry. Andy’s appointment is testament to this company sentiment and I have every faith in his ability to quickly become an invaluable addition to the team.”

Andy also commented: “My appointment at Skanco represents the perfect chance to put my experience into practice and with the support of a leading IT systems reseller. I am very fortunate in that I work with a highly motivated and dedicated team of like minded professionals through whom I can further develop my knowledge base and would like to take this opportunity to thank those involved in enabling me to do so.”
