KPMG Announces Tax Manager Promotion

by isleofman.com 9th October 2012

KPMG Isle of Man is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Cawley to the position of Manager within its tax department. Having spent 5 years as both a VAT and Customs and International Trade Officer with Isle of Man Customs & Excise, Paul joined KPMG in March 2010 as a Senior Consultant with the company’s taxation department. Paul has since become a highly valued member of the team, cultivating a broad knowledge of indirect tax matters and providing advisory services to a client portfolio, spanning the property, aviation, funds, financial services, gaming, international services and import/export industries.

Paul will be looking to further develop KPMG’s tax offerings including in particular KPMG’s ‘Gatew@y to the EU’, an initiative which provides trading  companies with a tax efficient EU import solution from which to manage the entry of goods into the EU market place.

Greg Jones, Director of Tax at KPMG Isle of Man, commented on the appointment: “Since joining us, Paul has added a great deal of value to the businesses of both KPMG and our clients. He is well regarded for his considerable VAT expertise and his promotion is in recognition of these achievements.”

Paul also commented on the promotion: “I enjoy my role at KPMG immensely and I am fortunate to work with fantastic colleagues and a very interesting range of clients. Each year it is becoming increasingly important for businesses to understand the VAT and duty issues which affect them and to ensure their compliance. Advising our clients on these matters is challenging and something that I enjoy very much.”
