Douglas RNLI lifeboat volunteer crew members were paged from their beds at 1:40am on the morning of the 6th October following advice from Police that a member of the public had reported a person in an agitated state on the Marine Drive, South of Douglas.
The RNLI all-weather lifeboat Sir William Hillary was launched under the command of volunteer coxswain Neal Corran to assist Douglas Coast Guards carry out a close inshore search, utilising both searchlights and parachute flares. A thorough search of the area by the lifeboat and Coast Guard team found nothing and after consultation with the Police all were stood down at 4:00am.
