With Main Road, Onchan closed during the road works, the usually busy stretch is experiencing a low number of pedestrians. However local shops in the affected area are still open, with access for pedestrians.
Karen Shimmin, Branch Manager for Kestrel Insurance, who recently moved their Onchan branch from 24a Main Road to 8-10 Main Road, commented “We want to remind local residents that we are still open during the road works that are going on outside of our branch. The foot paths are open along our side of the road so clients can visit us from both directions. The road works are due to carry on for a number of weeks so it’s important that everyone knows that we are open.”
Kestrel’s Onchan branch is also home to their dedicated Life department.
According to the Department of Infrastructure, Main Road, Onchan is set to be closed until the 2nd November.
